Emily Martinez
Chief of StaffEmily Martinez joined Altura Capital in 2021 and currently serves as Chief of Staff to Monika Mantilla and Junior Legal Counsel at the firm.
In her role, Ms. Martinez provides strategic and operational support to Ms. Mantilla, overseeing key initiatives that advance Altura Capital’s mission of driving inclusive economic growth and impact investing. She assists in managing executive priorities, coordinates cross-departmental collaboration, and supports stakeholder engagement across portfolio companies and strategic partners.
As Junior Legal Counsel, Ms. Martinez contributes to the firm’s legal and compliance functions, focusing on corporate governance, contract review, and regulatory matters. She works closely with leadership to ensure the firm’s operations align with both legal standards and strategic objectives, while also supporting due diligence and transaction execution.
Ms. Martinez earned her J.D. from St. Thomas University College of Law in May 2025, graduating cum laude. During law school, she served as a Certified Legal Intern with St. Thomas University’s Appellate Litigation Clinic, where she represented multiple clients in the Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal.
She also served as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Elaine A. Carbuccia in Florida’s Seventeenth Judicial Circuit. Ms. Martinez was an active member of the Moot Court Board, participating in both national and intramural competitions.
In addition, she was the Vice President and Co-Founder of the Golf Law Society, recognized as a repeat Dean’s Scholar, and received the Pro Bono Award for completing over 100 hours of pro bono service.
Prior to Altura Capital, Ms. Martinez worked as a Business Development Fellow for the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Born and raised in Florida, she enjoys long-distance running and playing with her dogs.
