Altura Capital Expands Life Sciences Platform and Appoints Anthony “Tony” López as CEO of AVS Life Sciences
Altura Capital announces the expansion of its life sciences platform and appoints Operating Partner Anthony “Tony” López as CEO and Board Director of AVS Life Sciences.
Altura Capital announced a strategic expansion of its life sciences portfolio and reaffirmed its commitment to continued investment in this important sector. As part of this initiative, Altura Capital Operating Partner Anthony “Tony” López has been appointed Chief Executive Officer and Board Director of Automation Validation Solutions (AVS) Life Sciences, with plans to expand the business into a broader life sciences services platform.
In addition to his role as CEO, López will serve as Interim Chief Commercial Officer as the organization further develops its structure and completes future acquisitions aligned with its long-term growth strategy. Ruben Taborda will continue in his role as President and Chief Operating Officer of AVS Life Sciences and will report to López in that capacity.

Anthony “Tony” López is a seasoned C-suite and board executive with more than $1 billion in global P&L responsibility across organizations including Johnson & Johnson, CareFusion Respiratory Systems, and Ansell Healthcare. He is recognized for driving commercial growth, building high-performance teams, and leading transformational change. López began his career as a U.S. Air Force Officer and holds degrees in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Management, as well as an MBA.
Ruben Taborda brings more than 35 years of leadership experience at Johnson & Johnson. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Customer Success (Supply Chain), overseeing solution deployment across a $10 billion medical device business and achieving best-in-class Net Promoter Scores. He has also held senior leadership roles across Sales, Account Management, Procurement, Finance, Logistics, and Manufacturing in both the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device sectors.
